Can science and religion be reconciled, especially when so many think that pathbreaking concepts like evolution and adaptation clash with theology? Well, an ordained Dominican priest, who also happens to be a National Medal of Science winner for his work in evolutionary biology and genetics, is traveling far and wide to preach clear and open thinking on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birthday and the 150th anniversary of the famed naturalist's masterwork, "On the Origin of Species." He praises Darwin's scientific achievements and says he hopes to educate partisans on both sides of the debate about his pioneering work that, if they can abandon their dug in views, there's a case to be made that religion and evolution are compatible.
