Women around the globe face unspeakable atrocities committed against them and for the 11th time, advocates, activists and organizers who oppose that oppression and violence will gather for a conference in Fullerton with speakers, seminars, a resource fair and a bazaar. The Saturday event will be free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended. Among the speakers will be Jolly Okot, a Nobel nominee who has labored to tell the world about the abduction of Ugandan children, especially girls, to serve as child soldiers. There also are planned presentations about trafficking of females, oppressive states globally and the violence and challenges of women in Darfur, Rwanda and Nepal.
