From Pepperdine University & Cal State Fullerton
Terry Giles, a regent in Malibu, an active Fullerton alum and a Los Angeles lawyer, takes on a new role at a sadly troubled national institution: a Georgia Superior Court judge has appointed Giles as the trustee-CEO of the King Center in Atlanta and the custodian for the estate of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Giles will be charged with sorting out and putting right the internecine family mess that has embroiled the center and estate, legacies of the slain civil rights leader, the university reports. More than 1 million people from around the globe annually visit the center, which houses the King library and archives and serves as the Nobel Laureate's last resting place and was where he was born. Family members have bickered over and struggled to manage Dr. King's legacy, the center and his estate.
